Welcome

Welcome to the official website for Snitterfield Cricket Club.

Snitterfield Cricket Club plays friendly 40 over matches on Sundays and 20/20 matches midweek throughout the season (weather permitting!) and we have a Junior Team playing in the Warwickshire Under 11 League.

We are an enthusiastic club comprising players of all abilities with a common love for the game and a desire to keep it fun and enjoyable.

Most of our matches are against local (or localish) opposition, but we have entertained touring teams from further afield and welcome enquiries from any touring sides that would like to stop-off along their way for a friendly game in good company, in beautiful Shakespeare's country.

Search for the new Teflon continues

With Tim Hartwell following up on a couple of fine catches taken in matches towards the end of last season, with a superlative caught and bowled against Great Alne, the club is now looking deep among its ranks to find the new Mr Teflon. Aus Booth, a possible candidate, has ruled himself out of contention by also executing a fine caught and bowled in the same Great Alne match.

Watch this space for further developments.

New Juniors Section

With a pucker Junior team now very much part of the Club, it seems only fitting that they should have their own section on the site. So welcome Juniors!

New Season off to a damp start

Well no surprise there then! Both the Sunday fixture and the Juniors' first fixture were victims of the weather which had left the wickets pretty much unplayable. I understand we are thinking about starting the season in mid-July next year!!!

Keep up to date with the rescheduling of fixtures in the Fixtures section and the Fixtures tab in the Juniors section of this site.

The Weather et al

I hope you chaps out there spent some time polishing up on the Duckworth-Lewis Method. The way the season has started you are going to need it.

The Method in detail along with a comprehensive guide to Keeping Score, have now found a permanent home in the Training section.

Photographs

Please, please, please can you let us have copies (jpegs preferably) of any photographs you have taken over the past few seasons. We now have super-smooth CSS galleries in full working nick and it would be nice to have some photos to show!

Praise for the website

It's nice to know we're doing something right. We continue to receive praise for the website from various quarters although these are usually accompanied with comments on the lack of photos. See request above!

At the moment a new version is being developed which will enable authorised contributors to update their own areas of the site. The average visitor will probably not notice any major differences other than the content being up to the minute (as opposed to up to the week). Well some of us have a real job too!
